Though plants need them in trace amounts, they play a vital role in plant structure, vitamin production, and overall yield improvement.

Plants, like humans, require nutrients to grow and reach their full potential. Three of these — carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen — come from air and water. The remaining 14 essential nutrients must come from the soil, forming the basis of modern fertilizers. These nutrients fall into three categories: macronutrients, secondary nutrients, and micronutrients.
