FLANGEGUARDS leading manufacturer and supplier of pipe safety shields Pipe safety shields also known as flange guards are used in a variety of industries, where their primary application is the prevention of harmful spray-outs and mist formation from failing pipe joints, of toxic, corrosive and dangerous liquids such as acid, oil or steam.
Safety or spray shields offer the last line of defence. They are not designed to contain the leak indefinitely, but to prevent the harmful spray outs resulting in fire or explosions causing considerable plant down time, capital expenditure and even loss of life.
SUREBAND – STEEL SHIELDS
Our SUREBAND Steel Shield uses only the highest quality materials. This robust and
simple design outperforms all other shield types and materials in our in-house
pressure testing.
The multi-layered internal steel mesh effectively diffuses pressure releases,
preventing dangerous spray or mist formation. Beware of low-quality copies that
lack proper mesh layers or safety testing.
Manufactured using 316 stainless steel, these guards are ideal for Steam, Fuel Oil,
Lube Oil, Diesel, and more. All designs are tested in our hydrostatic pressure
facility, and test certificates are available upon request.

SUREBAND Clear Shields
Manufactured from All-PTFE materials (no fibreglass) comprising clear ECTFE outer
and multi-layered PTFE mesh inner. This material provides unparalleled chemical
resistance.
PDT Pressure Diffusion Technology
Multi-layered PTFE mesh specially formulated to diffuse pressure release,
preventing spray and mist formation. The liquid simply drops vertically, removing
all hazards.
Quick-Connection
Industrialised & strengthened Velcro provides simple but highly effective means
of fitting & removal.
Litmus indicator patch
Immediate visual leak indication for acids & alkali applications. Easily replaced,
so the shield doesn’t have to be.
Teflon (PTFE) Shields
The PTFE guard is manufactured from three layers of woven Teflon coated fibreglass fabric with a central Teflon scrim for strength. This material is inherently resistant to Ultra-Violet radiation & is ideally suited to concentrated acid & caustic duty as well Fuel / Lube oil.

Clear Teflon (ECTFE) Shields
The Clear ECTFE guard is manufactured from a central section of clear teflon &
side sections of teflon coated fibreglass. This material is inherently resistant
to Ultra-Violet radiation & enables a visual inspection of the flange joint.
Clear ECTFE is well suited to concentrated acid & caustic duty as well as
Fuel / Lube oil. All our designs are tested on our hydrostatic pressure test
facility, test certificates are available on request.

PVC Shields
The PVC guard is manufactured from two layers of Polyvinyl chloride laminate and
includes a "litmus" leak indicator patch contained within a clear window. Thus,
any leaks will be visually detected.
The easy to fit lock tight fastening system comprises a Velcro strip, coupled with
a braided 100% PVC draw string. When tightened the fabric is drawn over the flange
bolts to the pipe wall thus eliminating a lateral spray out.
The design enables leaks to be released without danger, avoiding pressure-build up
within the shield.
